A woman traveling alone sounds absurd but Albert Einstein once said  “The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before.” Many women travel alone and they love it. If you have traveled alone you must have come across questions like   “Are you not afraid?” or “Is it safe?” Traveling with a group of friends or family can be incredibly fun and full of memories which will bind us with memories for a lifetime but if you travel alone you can be the master of your own destiny, you can get to do whatever you want, you alone have to make decisions and participate in it. Decisions such as where to go, how to go arise when you finally plan to travel alone. People hold many preconceptions about solo traveling but the reality may be different once you experience it.

Below are some suggestions of some places you can visit that are known to be the safest in the World-

  1. Finland

A beautiful place is known as the land of the midnight sun and the northern lights and also a perfect place for nature lovers. According to the World Economic Forum, ranked Finland as number one in the terms of safety in their Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report. Therefore, Finland falls under one of the safest places to travel alone and also one of the safest places for women to travel alone.

2. New Zealand

With the stunning and diverse natural beauty of jagged mountains, rolling pasture land, and scenic beaches, New Zealand stands as one of the safest places in the world. Other names for this place since the 1800s are “God’s own country” and ” Paradise of the Pacific”. According to some reports, New Zealand is the safest country for women in the world.

3. Canada

With centuries-old forests, a wide range of landscapes, countrysides, and lakes, Canada makes its place in this list as not only the most beautiful country but also the safest. Out of all the countries in America, Canada is known to be the safest destination for women travelers.

4. Switzerland

A country full of cultural diversity, cosmopolitan landscapes, and a wide variety of beautiful attractions, Switzerland stands as the seventh most peaceful country in the world, according to the Global Peace Index (GPI). It is one of Europe’s safest places for females to travel solo.

5. Uruguay

This small country is a very charming place with extremely welcoming people. Uruguay’s most famous resort town is Punta del Este, where you will find mountains, beaches, and quiet places to relax. Out of all the countries in America, Uruguay has the lowest crime rates. for women who wish to visit South America, Uruguay is one of the region’s safest countries to travel alone.

When you are standing alone on a street surrounded by strangers you might find yourself because traveling solo means you have to face challenges and within that, you will find who you are, what you want what you care about and what else do you want to do with your time now. You may feel that a woman traveling alone may be more difficult than having fun considering gender inequalities around the world. Then why should a woman travel alone?

For confidence and independence, some girls crave to have lived their own lives with a standard job. They don’t want anyone to interfere in the decision-making, if you are one of them then traveling solo will give you exactly the same. Don’t wait for your friends or family to reply to your traveling proposals, just book your flight and fly away for your long-awaited journey. It can be scary sometimes to be around total strangers but you may also find some exciting friendships. And most importantly you get FREEDOM!  You rely completely on yourself, you don’t have to make any compromises with others about food or stay. Some say that traveling alone is a life-changing experience for them. So, ladies, it’s time to live your ‘Yahoo’ moment straight out of the yesteryear Shammi Kapoor song from the movie ‘Junglee’.
